Techniques to Increase the Rate of Canola/Rapeseed Oil Output by 25% per Month

Generally the rate of canola oil output does not exceed 30%. With the following method, an extra 25% can be obtained.

During processing, sand and dust within the feedstock absorbs oil, thereby decreasing the rate of oil output. Sand and dust must be cleaned before pressing.

6YL-100 Oil Press
Filter Press

Control the Fire

When heating the canola by pan, often 1.5-2 kg seeds will be overcooked and stuck at the bottom. So, when 80% of the seeds have been properly cooked, open the upper mouth and close the tuyere to control the fire.

Detailed Operation:

Build an active column with an active iron board next to the upper mouth. Raise the iron board for a strong fire and close the mouth; lower the iron board for a slow fire and close the tuyere.

Change the Screw

You can change the No.6 screw to a No.5 screw of a Model 95 horizontal movable-bearing oil press. Increases the inner pressure and move 8 to 10 cm forward of the output oil position. Every 100 kg of seeds gets an extra 1-2 kg of oil.

The Oil is More Active in the High Temperature

The seeds just out off the pan reach 108º C. More oil can be obtained if oil is expelled at this temperature. 40-50 kg seeds for every pan are recommended. Cook and press to obtain the hot seeds for expelling.

Mixed with proper bran coat for better oil output rate

The seeds accelerate movement under high pressure, so the oil is not completely expelled although the cake has. Every 100 kg of canolas can be mixed with 5 – 7 kg of bran coat. Better seeds can be mixed with more bran coat. The bran coat should be clean, without dust or sand. A bran coat mix can slow down the speed of expulsion, which helps obtain more oil. Oil cake mixes with bran coat, and is expelled along with the seeds. It also helps increase the rate of oil output.
